Steve McCarty
Steve McCarty has been a driving force at McCarty Davis for over 37 years. With broad knowledge in investments, land, building sales and leasing, Steve has assisted clients in hundreds of successful real estate transactions. From key agricultural land to large industrial leases, from office and warehouse space to finding the right retail location and investment real estate, Steve’s knowledge of the Central Coast and its key players is a significant asset.
After graduating from the University of California at Santa Barbara with Bachelor and Master of Arts degrees in 1981, Steve worked major accounts within the computer hardware and software industry. Prior to the formation of McCarty Davis Commercial Real Estate, Steve McCarty started his career in real estate sales and leasing with TOLD Real Estate Corporation in 1988 operating out of Santa Maria and in 1992 formed Stafford McCarty Commercial Real Estate with partner Greg Stafford (retired). Steve Davis, an associate-broker with the firm for many years, become a partner, prompting a change in name to McCarty Davis Commercial Real Estate.
Steve’s current community involvements include being a Board Member of both the Central Coast and Northern Santa Barbara County Economic Forecasts, Steve has served on the Board and as Board Chair for the SLO Community Foundation, the San Luis Obispo Real Estate Foundation and the San Luis Obispo YMCA.
Steve Davis
For the past 18 years, Steve Davis has been bringing his fast-paced, detail-oriented approach to assisting clients with their commercial real estate needs on the Central Coast. Whether representing a small business looking for their first storefront or an established industrial client looking for the next manufacturing facility, Steve’s market knowledge and incisive analysis has enabled the team at McCarty Davis to find the best solutions for complex real estate needs for hundreds of clients.
After graduating from Stanford with a BS. in Industrial Engineering, Steve built his expertise progressing through an array of jobs that have allowed him to develop his unique skill set. Working as a management consultant for Arthur Young & Company gave Steve an in-depth access to solving complex corporate strategy and implementation problems. Opening a marketing and graphic design business, enabled hands-on assistance to small businesses launching and larger business competing for more market share. Steve honed his networking and operations expertise through management positions in the hospitality industry (directing alumni resorts and conference centers for both Stanford University and University of the Pacific), being CFO of a medical research firm and working as an analyst for the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts at Cal Poly. These experiences have given him the ability to understand the nuances of businesses and deliver highly effective real estate solutions.
Steve currently is a member of the SLO Chamber Business and Economic Council. Past volunteer efforts have included being President of the Board for the Food Bank Coalition of San Luis Obispo County, Member and Chair of the CLO City Parks and Rec Commission and a Board Member of the SLO Youth Sports Association.
Alyx Lemos
Alyx Lemos is a Central Coast native with deep roots in the community. Alyx entered the workforce as an entrepreneur, co-owning and operating a local marine business in Morro Bay for five years. This endeavor has given her an in-depth knowledge of maritime issues and helped her understand the nuances of operating a small business and providing services to countless other business owners and community members looking for help in scaling their operations or establishing new enterprises.
Her work then transitioned to real estate, working locally in property management managing long, medium and short-term rentals throughout the Central Coast. This work necessitated the understanding of complex landlord and ownership issues, local laws and ordinances as well as permitting processes, developing of vendor relationships, and real estate investing.
At McCarty Davis Commercial Real Estate Alyx has built on her real estate skills, leading our marketing efforts and handling transaction management duties in addition to her role in brokerage. Her attention to detail, responsiveness and community connections has ingrained her a valuable part of the McCarty Davis team.
